We encourage you to use these feeds. If you use the feeds publicly—meaning, where anyone but yourself will read them—please include a functional link back to the full-text story on our website and provide attribution to nytheatre.com, either as text (nytheatre.com is our site name) or using this small downloadable graphic. The New York Theatre Experience, Inc. (NYTE) reserves all rights in and to the logo, and your right to use the logo is limited to providing attribution in connection with the RSS. We don't require anything dramatic, but we do ask that you always note the source of the information. NYTE reserves the right to require you to cease distributing nytheatre.com content at any time for any reason.

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." It provides a way to get news and information at the time you choose and all in one place. You register for an RSS feed from a particular website such as nytheatre.com one time, and then new headlines and summaries will be downloaded to your computer automatically as they become available. An example of one of nytheatre.com's RSS feeds is shown at right.

You can use a feed reader program, a modern web browser (like the current versions of Internet Explorer, Safari, or Firefox), or possibly even your email program to subscribe to and read RSS feeds.

How to Subscribe to nytheatre.com RSS Feeds

INTERNET EXPLORER:

  1. Click on the orange RSS button for the feed you want to subscribe to from the list above. Your browser should display the selected feed (see sample above).
  2. Click on the "Subscribe to this feed" message that appears just above the main content.
  3. You can customize how you work with the feed by clicking on the FAVORITES button on your browser or selecting Favorites -> Add to Favorites from the Internet Explorer menu.
  4. If you want to receive updates via email, click on the RSS Feeds option in your Personal Folders in Microsoft Outlook.
  5. Visit the Microsoft support website for more information.

SAFARI:

  1. Click on the orange RSS button for the feed you want to subscribe to from the list above. Your browser should display the selected feed (see sample above).
  2. Click the Add Button (+) which is located to the left of the address box at the top of your browser. Alternatively, select Bookmarks -> Add Bookmark from the Safari menu.
  3. Type a name for the bookmark such as "nytheatre.com BardALERT."
  4. You can select the location where you want the feed to appear: on your bookmarks bar or in your Bookmarks Menu.
  5. If you want to receive updates via email, place a check mark in the box labeled "Mail."
  6. Visit the Apple support website for more information.

FIREFOX:

  1. Click on the orange RSS button for the feed you want to subscribe to from the list above. Your browser should display the selected feed (see sample above).
  2. Follow the instructions on the screen to subscribe to the feed.
  3. Visit the Firefox support website for more information.

FEED READERS (such as Google Reader, My Yahoo!, Newsgator, etc.):

  1. Right-click on the orange RSS button for the feed you want to subscribe to from the list above. Select "copy shortcut" or "copy link location." (If you're using a Mac, click and hold or control-click instead of right-clicking.)
  2. Go to your news reader of choice, and paste the link into the relevant spot.
